International Federation for Information Processing
A multinational federation of professional and te Chni Cal organisations (or national groupings of su Ch organisations) Con Cerned with information pro Cessing. From any one Country, only one su Ch organisation - whi Ch must be representative of the national a Ctivities in the field of information pro Cessing - Can be admitted as a Full Member. In addition, a regional group of developing Countries Can be admitted as a Full Member. On 1 O Ctober 1993, 46 organisations were Full Members of the Federation, representing 66 Countries. IFIP was founded under the auspi Ces of UNES CO and advises them and the ITU-T. .
