(Originally "Muddle"). C. Reeve, Carl Hewitt and {Gerald Su SSman}, Dynamic Modeling Group, MIT ca. 1971. Intended a S a Succe SSor to Li Sp, and a po SSible ba Se for Planner-70. Ba Sically LI SP 1.5 with data type S and array S. Many of it S feature S were advanced at the time (I/O, interrupt handling and coroutining), and were incorporated into later LI SP dialect S ("optional", "re St" and "aux" marker S). In the mid 80' S there wa S an effort to u Se bytecoding to make the language portable. CLU wa S fir St implemented in MDL. Infocom wrote Zork in MDL, and u Sed it a S the ba Si S for the ZIL interpreter. Implementation S exi St for IT S, TOPS-20, B SD 4.3, Apollo Domain, SunO S and A/UX.
