The ALU chip contained twenty-six 8-bit ef="module.php?name=Lexikon&file=search&eid=1&query=register">registers and an 8-bit ef="module.php?name=Lexikon&file=search&eid=1&query=ALU">ALU, while the control unit supervised the moving of data, memory access, and other control functions.
