Common Architecture for Next Generation Internet Protocol
(CATNIP, originally Common Architecture Technology for Next-generation Internet Protocol) A network architecture designed to provide a compressed form of the existing ref="module.php?name=Lexikon&file=search&eid=1&query=network layer">network layer ref="module.php?name=Lexikon&file=search&eid=1&query=protocols">protocols and to integrate ref="module.php?name=Lexikon&file=search&eid=1&query=CLNP">CLNP, ref="module.php?name=Lexikon&file=search&eid=1&query=IP">IP, and ref="module.php?name=Lexikon&file=search&eid=1&query=IPX">IPX. CATNIP was originally proposed by Robert L. Ullmann of {Lotus Development Corporation} on 1993-12-22.
