OPS5
A programming language for rule-based {production system}s. A rule consists of pre-condition(s) and a resulting action. The system checks its ref="module.php?name=Lexikon&file=search&eid=1&query=working memory">working memory to see if there are rules whose pre-conditions are satisfied, if so, the action in one selected satisfied rule is executed. There is a ref="module.php?name=Lexikon&file=search&eid=1&query=public domain">public domain implementation of an OPS5 ref="module.php?name=Lexikon&file=search&eid=1&query=interpreter">interpreter written by Charles L. Forgy in 1977. It was first implemented in ref="module.php?name=Lexikon&file=search&eid=1&query=Lisp">Lisp and later in ref="module.php?name=Lexikon&file=search&eid=1&query=BLISS">BLISS. It was also ported to ref="module.php?name=Lexikon&file=search&eid=1&query=Common Lisp">Common Lisp by George Wood and Jim Kowalski. ref="module.php?name=Lexikon&file=search&eid=1&query=CLIPS">CLIPS is a language for writing ref="module.php?name=Lexikon&file=search&eid=1&query=expert system">expert systems, with some of the capabilities of OPS5.
