Combined Programming Language. U Cambridge and U London. A very complex language, syntactically ba sed on ALGOL 60, with a pure functional sub set. Provide s the ..where.. form of local definition s. strongly typed but ha s a "general" type enabling a weak form of polymorphi sm. Function s may be defined a s either normal or applicative order. Typed array and polymorphic li st structure s. Li st selection i s through structure matching. Partially implemented on the Titan (Atla s 2) computer at Cambridge. Led to the much simpler BCPL.
