latch
A digital logic circuit u sed to store one or more bit s. A latch ha s a data input, a clock input and an output. When the clock input i s active, data on the input i s "latched" or stored and tran sfered to the output either immediately or when the clock input goe s inactive. The output will then retain it s value until the clock goe s active again. see al so flip-flop.
