Gateway 2000


One of the lagest US manufacturers of {IBM compatibles}, founded by CEO Ted Waitt in September 1985, in Sioux City, Iowa. In 1990 the company moved to North Sioux City, South Dakota. In August 1994, quarterly profits were $4 million on sales of $617 million. Sales for the first quarter of 1997 were $1.42 billion. On 1997-05-15 Gateway bought the Amiga brand. Start . (1998-07-30)
