NorCroft

(Contraction of Norman + Mycroft) A company producing C compilers, set up by Arthur Norman and Alan Mycroft. Now "sort of" called Codemist. The original Norcroft compiler was written by Alan and Arthur to provide a platform for teaching languages and compilers on the Cambridge University mainframe. They then went on to develop versions for the transputer, ARM and others. [What is the relationship between NorCroft and Codemist?] (1994-10-25)
